Shore-birding Mar 01

Spent a little bit of time shooting close to home (the North Shore) this past weekend, nothing to really write home about as is sometimes the case but i happily take what is given.

I've notice a lot of BIF shots posted recently, i too have been paying more attention to the craft since picking up the 300mm f4.
Most of my shooting has been done in less than optimum conditions and usually because there was nothing else happening at the time bird-wise, you can always rely on gulls and crows at Maplewood

Mostly, i've been trying to work the Belted Kingfisher in West Vancouver but again, conditions haven't been great whenever i've visited but it's good practice, they are soo quick.

A lot easier to get her stationary but the distance is not as close as one would like sometimes.

Closer to my workplace there is a trail that i sometimes take a walk on and this time i was pleased to see some Eurasian Collared doves fairly close

That's all i got, it's nice not to have to feel like you need to chase everything anymore, i wouldn't have felt that way when i was first starting out (i wanted it all) but this being the 10th Anniversary (2006-2016) of the Surly Bird getting the worm so to speak i'm ok with whatever i come home with, as long as it's something.

cheers
