Meh, i wasn't about to join the crowds this weekend, i like to be a little original in what i shoot and i knew everybody was getting the same shots as everyone else at that location where that bird was.
How could you not when there are 50 60 people all trained on the same subject?
So i ended up at Burnaby Lake for a bit Saturday morning instead, it was chilly and kind of grey but i tried to get something, worked the flight shots with the 300mm f4 and it was ok in the end, had the place to myself for a change.
Mallard
Common Merganser
On Sunday i visited my favourite pond in West Vancouver and said hello to the kingfisher
That was a fun way to spend a couple of hours, shots were ok and at least it didn't rain when i was out.
A couple of shots from the weekend before, visited Maplewood near my home and checked out the activity at the feeders, of which there are many now where the garden used to be, guess it still is there but it's all so clean now, it looks like a big feeder showroom for Wild Birds Unlimited.
Pine Siskins were out in force
and i also saw a Song Sparrow in the bushes and got a quick shot that i kind of like.
I'm looking forward to upgrading my camera to the D500 as i mentioned in another post but i hear it's been delayed until the end of April, oh well, gotta wait a bit longer i guess.
Thanks for looking and all that.
